Big announcement

I think it is finally time to make a big announcement about Leah and I that we kind of haven't really made public, but one that was about as poorly kept secret as Popeye liking spinach... Leah and I are expecting a new addition to our family. We have known since the beginning of the year, but in view of recent event, thought it would be best to keep it only amongst our family members.

Of course now that Leah is nearly 8 months along, it really is impossible to keep hidden, and we are so looking forward to the birth of our first child, that we felt it was a good time to make the announcement. We do not know what we are having, and really don't care, just so long as mother and baby are healthy!

This is a very joyous occasion, and we are very thrilled to be able to share our happy news with all of you that know us, and who have followed our story. I will be sure to update everyone if any news is available, and in the meantime, I must go paint the nursery and put together the crib!

PS... Since it has been asked of me, we are registered at Target, and Babies R Us.

Exciting Night in Omaha

Very exciting night last night in Omaha... About 210-220 am we had a big thunderstorm roll in, wild wind, heavy rain, lots of lighting, and then the sirens went off. We had a tornado less then 1/4 mile from the house, lots of broken trees, ripped off roofs, and damaged houses. Thankfully, we had no damage at hour house, although Mom and Dad (Rachel and John) had the neighbor's tree in their driveway. No damage to their property, just a lot of branches and leaves.

Summer Storms... Part 2

Fun night tonight here in Nebraska, hot and muggy like a shower, with a big strong warm front right on top of us. One of those days that you know the weather is going to get exciting.

Tornado sirens blowing, and blue skies over head... Its an odd sensation, until you take a glance to the west and realize that big black cloud rolling in from the west looks like it means business.

The daylight shots are from right after the sirens quit blowing as the storm was just getting ready to roll in, while the the night ones after the hail and the rain had passed.
